John Barrett

John Barrett is a Senior Consultant with BPI group, North America. He is certified as a Fellow Practitioner by the Institute of Career Certification International.
He brings extensive corporate and consulting experience in developing strategies and processes to achieve organization goals and individual success.
Mr. Barrett is a member of the leadership team for the firm’s Career Transition practice, which offers a highly personalized approach to career planning and outplacement services for companies, executives and other professionals. Based in the firm’s Chicago office, he is highly skilled at executive career assessment, executive coaching, 360-assessment and development planning. He is also experienced in providing organizational and HR strategic planning, and designing outplacement and career transition programs.
Prior to joining BPI group, Mr. Barrett held various career management positions, including Managing Principal for the Chicago region for an international career management consulting firm. He also was the firm-wide HR practice leader for RSM McGladrey & Pullen, and served as a consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick. His corporate experience includes human resources management positions with Continental Bank, Rush Medical Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Loyola University Medical Center. He has also served on the board of two healthcare service organizations, and he’s currently on the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Mr. Barrett has a Master’s degree in human resources and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, both from Loyola University of Chicago. He has done post-graduate work at Northwestern University and has served on the Graduate School faculty at DePaul University for 10 years.
