Bruce Requilez
Senior Consultant
Bruce Requilez is a Senior Consultant with BPI group, North America. Mr. Requilez comes to career and job search coaching from a variety of different experiences. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, he worked as a Design Civil Engineer in the Environmental field, including water and waste water treatment. He has a Professional Engineering license in the State of Minnesota. After personal reassessment, Mr. Requilez realized that while he was successful with analysis and design of things, he had a greater passion for addressing people problems and community issues.
Mr. Requilez went on to get a Master of Divinity Degree from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minn. where he focused on ministry particularly as it related to cities and their complex problems. He became actively engaged in community concerns on the north side of Chicago as part of working in the area of urban church development. This led over the years to heavy commitment to educational reform where he served on Mayor Harold Washington’s Parent Community Council and was part of the grassroots movement to reform public education in Chicago.
As part of the educational reform movement, Mr. Requilez cycled back to his math and science skills through working with the Teacher’s Academy for Mathematics and Science. This organization began the challenging task of retooling teachers and communities in the arena of math, science and technology. Here he learned about the realities of organizational and personal change in complex situations.
In 1998, Mr. Requilez began his journey into career and job search coaching when he joined The Derson Group. Over the years, he has worked at three different outplacement firms and been involved on a variety of projects along with individual coaching and workshop trainings. Projects have included utility plants, heavy industrial facility closings and call centers. Mr. Requilez has counseled with individuals and small groups in the office and out in the field.
Mr. Requilez has a special talent for finding things—he is resourceful and technologically savvy. He particularly enjoys helping people discover their passions and what they really want to do.
