32SM: Navigating your early career.

For the 1.5 million Americans graduating from college each year and other young adults embarking on their first career, life is filled with overwhelming options and questions. What do I want to do? Will my first job be my dream job? Will I be good at my job? Will this job lead me in the direction I want to go? Is this even the right direction for me? How will I know?

We’re here to help young adults make these important choices and begin charting their course for career success and self fulfillment. Our program for young careerists is called 32SM.  Just as ancient sailors used the 32 points on a ship’s compass to navigate the major winds, we guide young adults in developing their own compass and charting their course for career success.

Through interactive small groups and individual coaching, the program uses three navigational tools to develop a career in today’s competitive job market:

  • Focus: Finding clarity about who you are and how to apply your unique set of capabilities and interests in the marketplace. Self-discovery is an important part of the process. When you’re focused, you know who you are, know what you want and know what you can do.
  • Direction: Targeting your career search and successfully applying the appropriate career searching skills, such as researching, resume writing, interviewing and networking. When you’re directed, you aim your search, target the right position and organization, and sell yourself successfully.
  • Connection: Building and maintaining relationships with people that can support your career. When you’re connected, you develop relationships, opportunities and networking options.

As a result of 32SM, young careerists will achieve:

  • Greater clarity about the position they are seeking.
  • Increased skills and knowledge about the requirements in career development and the job search.
  • More efficient use of time and greater focus on the right activities.
  • Increased emphasis on networking activity to build contacts and relationships.
  • Stronger ability to land the “right” job that meets their needs and maximizes what they have to offer.

The program can also be customized to help organizations with young careerists and interns, as well as complement career placement and development programs at universities. For more information about 32SM, please visit www.32bpi.com, or contact us at +1.800.323.0206 or info@bpigroupus.com.
